Abstract
The present research objective to improve the teaching-learning of multiplication in fifth year basic general education students in the subject of Mathematics through the implementation of a strategy called Game-Based Learning. In addition, during the course of our research it is identified that students have problems in learning the multiplication process, since it is difficult for them to internalize the concept with practice, that is, there is little use of didactic strategies to promote meaningful learning. This research was developed based on the socio-critical paradigm, under a qualitative approach and the Action Research method. For the collection of information and data, techniques such as observation and interview were used, as were instruments such as the field diary, the observation guide, the interview guide and the questionnaire that were applied to the teacher and the students. A proposal is made that aims to improve the teaching and learning process of multiplication through four sections. From this, data analysis and coding of the results obtained are carried out, which reveal that the application of the Game-Based Learning positively improves the teaching process of multiplication.
