Abstract
Oral communication is the ability of the human being to be able to share their needs and emotions. Therefore, it is necessary that this capacity be developed permanently. However, for various reasons, there are cases where the individual finds obstacles that prevent the periodic strengthening of said ability. The research presented here focuses on the application of the podcast as a didactic tool to strengthen oral needs found in the ninth year of Basic General Education at the "Dr. Manuel Muñoz” in the city of Azogues. After a field exploration, it was found that the ninth-year students of the 2022-2023 school year had specific needs related to oral expression. After the application of data collection tools, difficulties were found in: diction, voice and volume. The same ones that according to observations were referred for fear of being judged for wrong actions. For this, it is proposed to apply the Podcast as a didactic tool to strengthen the skills exposed in the curriculum of the Ministry of Education (2016) "LL.4.2.2 organize the discourse through the use of the basic structures of the oral language, the selection and use of specific vocabulary, according to the intention, in formal communicative contexts” in the ninth year of EGB. The methodology used for this research is qualitative. The main data collection instruments were observation sheets, field diaries, interviews and surveys. Whose results were positive. An improvement was noted in the diction and volume of the voice of the students. A greater openness in social aspects between peers was noticed. It was concluded that, although the podcast improved the participation of the students, the proposal of the didactic guide, the process and activities that the construction of the recording entailed, was truly what contributed to the improvement of the group's communication skills. as well as feedback and monitoring.
