Abstract
The aim of this study was to develop labor competencies through the application of the Project Learning Method (PLM), with third year secondary school’s students on Agricultural Productions of the Educational Unit "El Tambo" (Equator). Those students have had not clear ideas about the entrepreneurship concept neither the institution had not an adequate teaching method to help them to develop labor competencies, knowledge and skills for entrepreneurship. To face this teaching-learning situation, it was necessary to achieve the transition from the passive, rote and repetitive pedagogical process of traditional education, to an active, participatory, collaborative and multidisciplinary education, through student-centered didactics to allow them achieve meaningful learning. A bank of problems and business local opportunities was created to link theory and practice, considering the technical knowledge and interests of the students, who were organized in four work-team. There was also required the participation of other professionals of the community with expertise on entrepreneurship micro-company’s management The results of this school experience on ABP’s application in classroom was quite positive: it allows to each student’s work-team to define, design and execute an entrepreneurship project and students launched their micro-companies in a school Fair, offered and sold their products and achieved successfully their learning goals related to develop labor competencies and entrepreneurship.
