Abstract
The current investigation was carried out based on the need to reinforce the development of skills with performance criteria associated with multiplication, in fourth-year EGB students from the Unidad Educativa Particular South American. The objective of this research project is to design a didactic proposal based on a blog as a resource to strengthen the growth of mathematical abilities associated with multiplication while simultaneously tracking the level of motivation of the students during this process. For this, a teaching blog was designed that focused mainly on TIC; The blog was named "Let's learn by playing: multiplication". The two main theoretical references on which this research is based are Maseda (2011) and Díaz (2013). In the present investigation, a qualitative methodology was applied in which allowed us to describe the interaction and behavior of the study participants through observations. The observations focused on participant’s characteristics such as the needs, interests and motiva-tions that drove them to better understand basic mathematics. The most important finding within this research is that the implementation of TIC in classrooms encouraged motivation, because it was discovered to have positively improved the student’s skills. The overall con-clusion of this research is that there is a positive correlation between the implementation of the blog that focuses on multiplication and the increase of development skill, motivation in this process.
