Abstract
One of the most important languages worldwide is English, a universal language that brings advantages to professionals and better job opportunities. In this context, an approach was made to the Educative Institution "Las Palmas" where the lack of family support in the development and learning of the language and the difficulties that this process entails were made evident. From an inclusive education perspective, the research revolved around the following question: How to promote family participation in the process of teaching and learning English in the second year of high school at the Educative Institution "Las Palmas" in the period 2020. In this context, a mixed investigation was designed, based on the social-critical paradigm, with a descriptive and exploratory level of depth of a transversal type. Triangulation, qualitative interviews and descriptive statistical processes were considered as research methods. The research techniques selected were the signing up, the survey and the interview. In correspondence with the mentioned techniques, bibliographic and content files, a questionnaire on forms of participation and semi-structured interview scripts were considered to collect perceptions of families, director of the English area and coordinator of the student counseling department. The population and the research sample considered the parents of the second-year high school students and was conformed of 17 parents and 2 authorities. The results of the research showed that there is no support from parents about the teaching and learning of the English language, however, there is an interest in actively participating in the development of students' skills and abilities. The study concludes with a comprehensive and participatory proposal based on recreational and daily activities that becomes an innovative tool to improve language learning.
