Aproximación al Rol docente en tiempos de pandemia: escuelas fiscales (Azogues-Ecuador)

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to approach the role of teachers in the educational process in public schools in Azogues canton during the pandemic. The problem addressed arose due to the influence of the pandemic caused by Covid-19, in the teaching-learning processes and adaptation of teachers to the new educational reality and the change of work modality from face-to-face to virtual. This research is framed within a qualitative approach at a theoretical-instrumental level, an interpretative paradigm that entails emphasizing the diverse findings of the subjects under study and under a collective and descriptive case method. To this end, various instruments were used to collect information, through a series of interviews, observations together with documentary support, and subsequent data analysis, through the coding of the interview responses by categories and interpretation. The main result obtained evidences the challenge of the teacher facing the pandemic reality, which has entailed great changes in his professional work during the virtual modality in all its aspects (strategies, techniques and instruments, etc.).
