Abstract
This work begins from the data collected, during the pre-professional practices in different educational institutions of Ecuador, as part of the teaching-learning process of the Basic General Education career. During this time, we observed that Ecuadorian education does not strengthen the learning of Mathematics through intercultural audiovisual material, appropriate to the characteristics and age of the students. For this reason, this qualitative research aims to contribute to the strengthening of the learning of addition through the design, application, and evaluation of a learning workshop, based on the use of audiovisual material for students in the second year of Basic Education. We apply the analysis of the information through observation guides and interviews. Through these it was possible to contrast information and proceed to the design and creation of the educational workshop. We carried out the evaluation of the proposal based on a diagnostic test and a final test aimed at schoolchildren from the Tsantsa Intercultural Bilingual Educational Unit belonging to the Ecuadorian Amazon. All this to evaluate the effectiveness of the audiovisual material produced. Finally, after the application of the two tests, we find remarkable progress made by the students’ skills.
