Abstract
The topic Diversity and Culture seeks to rescue and value different expressions that identify local popular culture in order to strengthen the Ecuadorian interculturality and identity by rejecting all forms of discrimination to the experiences and behaviour of society groups. The research and practice of new methodological strategies are useful in the development of students learning skills, oriented to achieve the values of justice, innovation and solidarity established in the national curriculum. Cooperative work enables to accomplish meaningful learning in an intentional and reflective way. Rol playing, analysis of sources and the artistic workshop about the design of local handicrafts promote the demonstration and recreation of cultural context. Moreover, cooperative work encourages the construction of students own knowledge by enriching one of the other members in an environment of positive interdependence.
