Abstract
This research focuses on the implementation of gamification as a pedagogical strategy for the learning of eukaryotic cell structure in eighth grade students of General Basic Education (EGB) at the Roberto Rodas Educational Unit. Through the observation of class sessions and the application of an initial pretest, significant deficiencies were identified in the basic knowledge of eukaryotic cell structure, which affected the students' understanding of natural sciences. The objective of this research is to apply a pedagogical strategy based on gamification to improve the learning of cell structure, using tools such as Wordwall and Educaplay. The intervention proposal is developed in four phases: diagnosis, development of materials, development of classes through gamification and evaluation. This methodological approach allows an evaluation of the effectiveness of the strategy in the learning process of eukaryotic cell structure, to determine if it has had a positive impact on the academic performance of students. The research is based on a socio-critical paradigm and employs gamification as an independent variable. A mixed methodological approach is adopted, combining qualitative and quantitative methods to achieve a comprehensive understanding of the problem. The results obtained after the implementation of the gamification strategy indicate an increase in learning and student participation during classes, showing that this strategy improves the understanding of cellular concepts and promotes greater involvement in the classroom.
