Abstract
The research "Influential artists of Ecuador through the eyes and plastic interpretation of high school youth of the South American Educational Unit" was applied to develop knowledge about the life of Ecuadorian artists who have influenced the students of the Unified General High School of the Unit. South American Educational through didactic strategies in plastic arts and microbiographies; The project lasted 8 weeks with the participation of 61 first and second BGU students aged between 15 and 18 years. According to the experience acquired in the pre-professional practices during seven cycles, it can be affirmed that the Ecuadorian artist is approached in a very superficial way; Topics related to the Ecuadorian artist are mentioned in an insubstantial or null way, both in the ECA curriculum as well as in the teaching plans, which has caused a lack of knowledge and visibility, so there are temporary learnings which do not prevail in memory. of student. This project has the Qualitative Approach which contributed to the understanding and descriptive analysis of the investigated phenomenon, through qualitative methodology, as well as the level of knowledge of the people involved about Ecuadorian artists. The Field Design, carried out in the South American Educational Unit, began with a period of inquiry and observation of the students and the teacher in the classrooms, and data collection from techniques used for this research such as: participant observation, questionnaire, forum-type group dynamics; the instruments used were: observation guide, questionnaire and anecdotal record. Strategies such as dialogues, brainstorming, discussion forum, microbiographies and plastic arts workshops were implemented for the development of the workshops. For the analysis of the collected data, content analysis was applied, which allowed interpreting and reflecting on the results obtained, complementing it with the iconographic and didactic analysis of the portraits. In general, it can be mentioned that the implementation of the artistic pedagogical proposal contributed in generating an approach to Ecuadorian artists, knowing and valuing their contributions in Ecuadorian culture, a database of 49 Ecuadorian artists of different genres and artistic languages was obtained. with their respective microbiographies in front of the 3 artists previously mentioned the project, additionally women artists were made visible, they perfected and developed artistic skills and pictorial styles, applied collaborative work, and noted the importance of valuing the national artist. Through the application of the project, the need to make visible and value the contribution of Ecuadorian artists through projects addressed in the ECA subject was confirmed, developing the different skills that only art provides to the participants, as well as the development of creativity, emotions and values.
