Una introducción a la conjetura de Collatz usando GeoGebra

Abstract

The Collatz Conjecture is one of the simplest mathematical problems to state and understand, because only arithmetic calculations studied since elementary school are used, but behind its simplicity there is an open problem of number theory, which great mathematicians have tried to demonstrate without success, however, several valuable contributions have been made for a better understanding of the Collatz problem. The objective of this work is to present a study of how the use of GeoGebra improves the understanding of the Collatz Conjecture, in the Leveling students of the Faculty of Sciences of the Central University of Ecuador, for these two courses were considered in which in one of them he only received the theoretical explanation of the conjecture while in the other course the simulation in GeoGebra was included, which showed better results in the tests carried out.
