Abstract
The present field study seeks to identify the underlying causes and propose a change in educational leadership, involving the director and the teaching team in order to improve educational quality and pedagogical processes. On the other hand, its main objective is to propose academic and administrative procedures to strengthen managerial leadership in the “Monseñor Enrique Bartolucci” Fiscomisional School of the Rioverde Canton of the province of Esmeraldas. The methodology of this research is based on the socio-critical paradigm and uses a qualitative approach to analyze the needs of school leadership and management. This is a basic research that uses the case study method in situational mode, focused on a single case, to address the challenges that arise in the administrative and pedagogical processes of the institution. After the analysis of the instruments applied in the research process, needs were identified related to the coexistence of the teaching staff, the execution of academic and administrative procedures, the training of teachers, and the supervision of microcurricular planning. These findings highlight the need for the institution's leadership and management to reinforce collaborative skills, capabilities and attitudes to raise educational quality.
