Abstract
The present research, entitled “Educational Strategies to Promote Sustainable Environmental Care Practices among Employees of the Unidad de Matriculación del Gobierno Autónomo Descentralizado Municipal de Azogues”, aims to design educational strategies that promote the adoption of sustainable practices among the workers of this unit. The study is based on a socio-critical approach, which seeks to generate changes through critical reflection and the active participation of those involved. To do so, a mixed-approach methodology was used, which allowed combining quantitative and qualitative techniques. Intentional sampling was applied to employees of the Registration Unit of the Municipal Government of Azogues, with the purpose of selecting those who play key roles in the environmental practices of the institution. The data collection instruments included a semi-structured interview guide, questionnaires and a field observation guide. These allowed identifying the main problems related to environmental management in the unit, such as the inadequate use of resources, the lack of waste separation and the lack of knowledge about sustainable practices. The results obtained were analyzed from a critical perspective, recognizing the structural and educational barriers that hinder the adoption of sustainable behaviors. Based on this analysis, educational strategies were designed to train employees on key topics such as waste management, energy savings and efficient use of resources. These strategies include workshops, awareness campaigns and the implementation of practical guides, to foster an organizational culture committed to caring for the environment.
