Abstract
The Final Master's Project was developed with the purpose of applying the didactic sequence "Decimal expression" to the students of the eighth year of the basic general education "E" of the Fiscal Education Unit "29 de Agosto", located in Mata de Cacao, Babahoyo canton, by principles of constructivism, helping students in the discovery of decimal numbers for the achievement of meaningful and functional learning. A participatory and constructivist methodology was applied to ensure meaningful learning through the combination of methods, techniques and strategies that allowed the student to develop and be an individual participant in this process. Then, information and evidences of all the positive and negative situations in the classroom were collected, it is convenient to analyze this information to elaborate an improvement proposal that optimizes the didactic sequence in order to improve the teaching-learning process for the students.
