Abstract
The present investigation describes the development and application of practical activities related to photography and film to enhance teaching and learning in the area of Cultural and Artistic Education (ECA) with students of higher basic education at the "Mercedes Vázquez Correa" Educational Unit. A qualitative methodology that included class observations and surveys was used to collect data from students and teachers. The objective was to stimulate the development of diversified contents that have a significant influence on learning in the area of ECA. Likewise, the intervention project was designed under a constructivist approach, which allowed fostering meaningful learning, that is, learning that occurs when students relate new information with their previous knowledge, establishing connections and building a deeper and more meaningful understanding of the topics. The results show that the implementation of practical activities in the classroom can significantly improve students' understanding and interest in the area of Cultural and Art Education. In addition, students report greater confidence in their ability to design and implement hands-on activities in their classes. In general, this study highlights the importance of practical activities in education and suggests recommendations for better integration into the curriculum.
