Abstract
The following curricular integration work called "Didactic strategies for the development of mathematical thinking in eighth-year students of the Corel Private Educational Unit". It emerges from the need to transform the way of teaching and learning mathematics. This project is constituted in the theories of Learning, Project-Based Learning and Mathematical Thinking. The aim of this project is to implement innovative didactic strategies in the context of the educational context of the eighth year in order to improve the mathematical thinking of schoolchildren. The research is developed in the orientation of the Sociocritical paradigm with a mixed analysis approach. In the research process there is evidence of a lack of diversification of methodologies, strategies and didactic resources, which denotes an insufficient level in the development of skills and competencies of the student body. However, to respond to the identified problem, a proposal is developed didactics in orientation of Project-Based Learning and its incidence in the development of Mathematical Thought, this proposal consists of three intervention cycles under the conception of action research; Planning, Action, Observation and Reflection. The exhaustive analysis of the information collected shows that project-based learning significantly improves the development of mathematical thinking, skills and competences, therefore it is recommended to implement this innovative methodology to stimulate the teaching of mathematics and thus guarantee the comprehensive training of the student.
