Abstract
This research presents a plan of educational intervention integrated by didactic strategies through cooperative, autonomous work and the game that have the objective of improving the understanding and therefore the teaching and learning process of the 33 students of sixth year of EGB, parallel "A "of the Isaac A. Chico School, located in the Ricaurte parish of the province of Azuay. The causes diagnosed that do not allow the improvement of the reading comprehension are the use of a traditionalist methodology, the wrong choice of strategies that awaken the interest of the students and the lack of accompaniment of the parents and teachers in the needs of the students. The project contemplated four phases: diagnosis, design, implementation and evaluation. This was carried out under the methodology of participatory research and action within the socio-critical paradigm with a mixed approach. The collection of information was carried out through different research techniques: participant observation, survey, test, questionnaire, focus group and interview. To analyze the results of the final test, implemented after the proposal, in comparison to the diagnostic test, a significant improvement in the reading comprehension of the children is evidenced. In addition, the teacher and the students gave good appreciations of the activities, considering them as excellent, very good and good showing their interest to be applicable in other subjects, because according to their criteria, they do not demand many resources and through these strategies, they could share with classmates, learn and have fun, improving the teaching learning process.
