Abstract
In this work a didactic strategy is designed in the teaching and learning of geometry in basic general education of seventh year students of the “El Quiteño Libre" school.The main objective is the use of manipulative material, and the students could build quadrilaterals, recognize and identify the properties of flat figures, calculate area and perimeter of them, with this promote the development of cognitive, procedural and attitudinal aspects in the resolution of didactic activities and problems proposed in the sequence. For that we use valuation scales or indicators called “rubric", witch this method to analyze what has been learned by the students and score the work done. As a result the applied strategy worked well, it consisted in assignment of working roles, the group distribution and the acquisition of significant learning.
