Abstract
The present research, entitled Development of gross motor skills in infants from 3 to 4 years of age from the Body Expression and Motor Field of the ABC Initial Education Center, aims to propose a guide of recreational activities for the stimulation of gross motor development. In this sense, theoretical references were raised focused on the development of gross motor skills, in which emphasis is placed on the concept, its importance and components, as well as recreational activities for the development of gross motor skills. The methodology is a case study, with a socio-critical paradigm, under the qualitative approach. The analysis was executed through a categorization matrix and diagnostic subcategories, where techniques such as participant observation, structured interview, and their respective instruments were designed and applied. From the collection of information and diagnosis, it was evident the scarcity of activities for the stimulation of gross motor skills and the difficulties presented by infants for the execution of motor activities such as jumping, running, walking and galloping, because, they lose balance and coordination, so also when manipulating objects to throw or dunk. In effect, the proposal for educational intervention was presented, which is a guide to recreational activities entitled The movements of my little body, the same that consists of 10 learning activities, based on the Initial Education Curriculum 2014. In conclusion, the activities implemented were of great help to strengthen the development of gross motor skills of each child in Initial 1C and a significant contribution to the teacher since, the guide will be a useful tool for their teaching learning processes.
