Abstract
The academic reinforcement in the math field of the Ecuadorian Basic Education, represents a challenge to the teachers of the field in order to the innovation and inclusion, since they must propitiate the essential basic learning foreseen of the students who in regular times do not achieve it in a curriculum chapter in particular; In addition to the adversities in terms of time, space and dedication of both actors. The diagnosis let it possible to verify the existence about this situation, through the application of qualitative and quantitative techniques and instruments to gather information on the teaching methodology, teaching resources and evaluation; as well as the knowledge and skills that students possess. The analysis of the educational context led to the question: How to reinforce the learning of students in the math field, sub-level of basic superior of the educational institution Herlinda Toral (Cuenca)? It is assumed among the theoretical contributions, those of Van Hiele (1957), on teaching of Geometry; as well as those of David Kolb (1984) in relation to learning styles. The methodology is based on the socio-critical paradigm of qualitative approach and participatory action research as a design to understand social reality as a concrete totality that facilitates the process of reflection in action-transformation. It was concluded that the main result of the research is the methodological and practical concretion of the respective academic reinforcement that allowed improvements in the learning in the Geometry curriculum chapter by the students of 8th year of higher basic in the mentioned institution.
