Abstract
This study analyzes the use of the Leoteca web platform that is proposed as a didactic strategy when strengthening reading comprehension. The objective of this research is to implement a didactic strategy based on the web platform Leoteca through participatory workshops with students of eighth year of EGB, to strengthen reading comprehension. The mixed research approach, and its research design is quasi-experimental (without a random sample and with two groups, one control and one experimental), the techniques implemented were: Participant observation, interviews, surveys and instruments were: Observation sheet, field diary, interview guide, survey guide. The following scientific tasks were fulfilled: Theoretically substantiate the importance of the use of the Leoteca web, diagnose the level of reading comprehension in the students of eighth of EGB, design the didactic strategy with the use of the web platform Leoteca, Apply the didactic strategy through the use of the Leoteca website and evaluate the result of the application of the didactic strategy through the use of the Leoteca website. The main result was: the implementation of new vocabulary, greater precision when identifying main and secondary ideas, and the understanding of different types of texts. The conclusion is that by implementing a web-based didactic strategy Leoteca from the perspective of participatory workshops strengthens reading comprehension.
