Abstract
The educational unit Pedro Carbo receives students from the social, cultural and educational levels of the urban and rural areas of Guaranda canton; found in the Group of pupils with special educational needs, which in this case correspond to mental retardation mild; that is detected after investigations by the Department of the educational orientation. Being necessary to make the adjustments corresponding to a unit teaching by selecting the most important content and picking techniques and methodologies that favor integration teams and the collaboration of the peers in the classroom; Stressing that they achieved the objective to implement learning strategies that helped the three students achieve learning according to their condition; It can be concluded that students who have special needs should be taken into account in school planning, to support their overall development.
