Abstract
The purpose of this curricular integration work was to strengthen the teaching-learning of the Kichwa language through the use of Otavalo Music in the seventh grade of the Intercultural Bilingual Community Educational Unit "Miguel Egas Cabezas", located in the province of Imbabura, in the canton of Otavalo. In order to contribute to the revaluation of the language of the nationality, the objective was to design a "Guide of Didactic Strategies for the teaching-learning of the Kichwa language through the use of the Music of Otavalo". To carry out this work, data was collected through observations and analysis of the practices carried out in the educational institution and the approach to the members of the community in general. Similarly, it was based on the conceptual framework that details the theoretical models, concepts, arguments and ideas that have been developed in relation to the topics of our proposal, at the same time, the Kichwa Otavalo musical rhythms were incorporated into the didactic strategies guide, seeking to strengthen the phonemes and vocabulary in Kichwa. This guide is designed as a resource that seeks to promote the application of the language of the nationality (Kichwa language) in the educational contexts of students, demonstrating links in the teaching-learning process and imparting knowledge of the community through the Otavalo Music, considering that it is a tool capable of being molded and applied in various institutions of the EIB, allowing its use both inside and outside the classroom.
