Abstract
The present degree work is oriented under the line of learning and development processes, because it is relate to the techniques and theories of motivation. Thus, it seeks to increase the motivation of fifth-year students when learning mathematics with a playful strategy because the lack of this is the problem identified during the pre-professional practice of the ninth cycle. The main theoretical references were: Turienzo who tell us about the importance of motivation in education and the use of a playful strategy that Rosa Maltempi presents to the Role Playing Game (RPG) video game that provokes a taste and motivation to learn, making it not only knowledge of the subject is acquired. The paradigm is the socio-critical one, since this allowed to deepen and to know the situation of the subject of study, to be able to give a solution based on the interests and knowledge of the same; while the research approach is mixed. Because it was possible to obtain qualitative and quantitative data that allowed deepening the subject of study and being able to design the methodological guide focused on the RPG strategy. Finally, the methodological guide developed aims to motivate the student when learning mathematics and allow the teacher to innovate with a playful strategy that helps to obtain a more dynamic and interactive classroom and possibly an improvement in school performance.
