The aim of this work is to show how the participation of parents influences the teaching-learning process in the pupils of the seventh year parallel "A" through the technique of participant observation, carried out in the educational unit "Francisco Febres Cordero " Where the pre-professional practices were carried out, it was evidenced that 30% of the pupils had poor academic results, which led to the hypothesis that the main underlying cause could be the low level of education. attention of parents or guardians in charge. Through the application of the case study method, and with a framework in the socio-critical paradigm with a qualitative approach, it was possible to deepen the analysis of how family participation is a key influence in the teaching-learning processes observed in the classroom. The overall objective proposed was to find out how parental participation influences the teaching and learning process of students during the pandemic period experienced. To comply with this, various instruments for collecting information were used, such as the application of surveys, interviews, and the perceptions recorded in the field notebooks during the accompaniment to Pre-professional Practices. The main conclusions drawn were consistent with the initial research hypothesis: the meaningful and responsible support of parents and legal representatives is an essential factor for the success of educational processes when implementing the virtual modality.
