Abstract
There is a controversy regarding the teaching of the subject of Cultural and Artistic Education in Ecuador; by resorting to diverse methodologies aimed at complying with the specifications offered by the curriculum without previous knowledge about what quality artistic education implies, it is possible to enter an undervalued system with monotonous resources that give way to harmful conceptions about what this type of teaching implies. In this Curricular Integration Work, an artistic workshop is built and taught to the students of the first year of unified general high school of parallel "B" with the purpose of diminishing those perspectives that have harmed the progress of the area in question, demonstrating the existence of different aspects necessary to contribute in an adequate way to the exit profile of the students of the Educational Unit "Zoila Esperanza Palacios" of the city of Cuenca, taking into consideration all the tools that the curriculum of Cultural and Artistic Education can offer if it were in a more remarkable level of the educational system.
