Abstract
This study focuses its interest on improving the didactic practice of teachers who work in educational institutions of medium level in the area of mathematics, in order to influence the motivation of students. The aim is to promote, through constructivist strategies, the learning of theoretical principles and the practical application of triangles and their characteristics, with the intention of developing geometric skills. The results of the application of the constructivist model were evident in the disposition of the students to resort to the application of the previous knowledge in new problematic situations, the consolidation of collaborative activities with a disposition to communicate, work organized from instructions, the increase of a horizontal communication in search of answers that account for rigorous and reflexive processes. The classroom experience demonstrates that the learning of mathematics becomes a change of focus in its approach.
