Abstract
This study sought to identify the characteristics of the use of auditory or sound resources to improve the teaching-learning process in the subject of Social Sciences. A socio-critical paradigm, a qualitative approach and a deductive method were taken into account to implement a survey and an interview directed to the students and their teacher, respectively, of the fifth year of basic general education "B" of the Luis Cordero Educational Unit. in the city of Azogues. From the applied instruments it was evidenced that both the students and the teacher are open to the implementation of activities with the use of sound resources within the classroom. In correspondence with the objectives, an activity guide was proposed that consisted of three sections: a theoretical section as a starting point for teachers, a section of tasks that involve the use of sound resources such as: soundscapes, music and holophonic sounds and a section of recommendations for their implementation. From the evaluation of the proposed guide by experts on the subject, it was obtained that the proposal is valid to help children learn, it is innovative and its implementation within the classroom is pertinent. In conclusion, the use of auditory or sound resources in the classroom enhances the cognitive development of students, encourages students to openly show their emotions and interests, strengthens the development of their multiple intelligences, and helps teachers find subsequent strategies in the classroom. boys and girls learning style.
