Abstract
The Ministry of Education in Ecuador has made a curricular adjustment that seeks better learning opportunities for all students in the country within the framework of a project that promotes their full personal development and their integration in a society guided by the principles of Good Living, democratic participation and harmonious coexistence, which motivated me to elaborate the present work with its main objective: Design and implement the didactic material to encourage the habit of reading in the sixth year students of Basic Education "Ciudad Guayaquil".
Through this implementation my students share about their family roots and, at the same time, build and reaffirm their personality; they identify the pleasure of the first readings. In conclusion I can emphasize that the acquired learning and the experiences of our tutors in each of the subjects, strengthens my teaching preparation.
