Abstract
This degree work, corresponding to a research project, was derived from the pre-professional practices of the authors in the "Francisco Febres Cordero" Educational Unit of the City of Cuenca. Its purpose is to contribute to the strengthening of the virtual teaching-learning process of reading in the Language and Literature subject of the second year of Basic General Education of mentioned institution, based on the design of a system of activities on the use of virtual didactic resources suitable for the needs of the students. The selected activities and resources create better conditions for promoting the reading habit. They propitiate the achievement of skills related to the recognition of the alphabetic code and the pronunciation of phonemes and graphemes, from an individualized attention and systematic accompaniment, everything that should also contribute to the improvement of teaching skills in the treatment of reading during the teaching-learning process of aforementioned subject and school grade. The applied research methodology was based on the socio-critical paradigm and the mixed approach, in which theoretical and other empirical methods were used: participant observation, survey and interview, which through techniques and instruments made it possible to obtain information about the main difficulties and existing potentialities in the process under study. The activity system proposal, designed according to the results obtained and the theoretical bases of said object, was assessed by the criteria of specialists, who generally considered it feasible and pertinent.
