Abstract
Oral communication is one of the skills of the 21st century and becomes relevant in virtual education due to the emergence of COVID-19, a virus that has affected all areas of society, from the economy to education. Therefore, arises the subject of the present study, Didactic guide for strengthening oral communication as a 21st century skill from a virtual perspective in the sixth year of EGB of the UE "República del Ecuador", the objective of which is to strengthen oral communication from the virtual perspective using a didactic guide. For this purpose, the specialized literature on oral communication was consulted, as well as Almerich (2018), Loachamín (2019), Martínez (2007), Romo (2015) and other authors and related topics. The methodology integrates a socio-critical paradigm and a qualitative approach, complemented by Action Research and Kemmis’ (1989) phases. Likewise, various techniques and instruments are used to collect and analyze information such as documentation, participant observation, focus groups and field diaries, given that they specify the theoretical and pedagogical bases of the teaching-learning guide by means of eight different activities that the students must develop in order to strengthen their oral communication skills. After the application, it is established that collaborative work promotes the development of new competences: self-assertion, regulation, reflection, argumentation, respect, listening, creativity and self-regulation. Finally, it is concluded that a person learns to express himself in the daily life of the classroom, family, home, neighborhood and other scenarios.
