Abstract
This degree work addresses the difficulties in the writing process of students in the seventh year of basic general education (EGB) in the subject of Language and Literature. It focuses on improving the quality of teaching and learning of creative writing through the implementation of life stories as a pedagogical strategy, from a innovative look at educational practices. To achieve this, he research has been carried out, based on a communicative approach and an active and collaborative participation, with students and teachers from the Unidad Educativa16 de Abril, in Azogues. Through the implementation of creative writing workshops based on life stories, looked to foster an environment conducive to the expression and construction of knowledge through literary writing; in order for students to overcome their difficulties in the writing process, acquire communication skills and develop their creativity as a fundamental part of the learning process. This will help them to express themselves and build knowledge autonomously and critically. The research is qualitative with an exploratory approach, using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method and participant observation and interview as collection techniques, along with the survey and documentary analysis. It is concluded that creative writing workshops based on life stories improve the skill of thinking creatively and developing effective communication skills, preparing them to be competent people in society.
