Abstract
The present work entitled: "Initiation to pre-reading with the use of children's stories in children from 3 to 4 years of the Sayausí Millennium Educational Unit", has as a general objective to contribute to the initiation of pre-reading through of the use of children's stories in children from 3 to 4 years of age of the Educational Unit of the Milenio Sayausí Cuenca-Ecuador, because, according to what was observed in the pre-professional practices, the teacher uses the stories as a teaching-learning tool for which was used in this research. The theoretical references used in the research provide concise concepts about the initiation to pre-reading and children's stories, the same ones that help the child's learning. Likewise, action research was used as a method, it has a qualitative approach and a socio-critical paradigm. Field diaries, participant observation, checklist, interviews and forms were used as techniques and instruments. The main result of this research was the design and application of activities so that children have an approach to pre-reading through children's stories. Finally, one of the main conclusions was to develop a proposal with certain children's stories, to give way to the initiation of pre-reading, bearing in mind that it is not really about a child reading through a written document, but rather that through what you are listening to and observing in pictograms, assimilate what you want to reach, the moral of the story; In addition, to develop their creativity and imagination.
