Abstract
This research work was developed in order to analyze the effects of the application of analogy as a teaching-learning strategy, for the improvement and overcoming of the conceptual difficulties of mole and amount of substance in students of the second BGU, of the Educational Unit "Herlinda Toral" from block 1 of the Chemistry subject. This research was given as a result of the problems diagnosed in the students from the methodology and the strategies used by the teacher, which are not favorable for the teaching of this subject since a high level of abstraction and difficult understanding is presented. The problem in this study was that most of the students presented confusion in understanding the concept of mole and amount of substance, since these concepts are related to magnitudes such as mass and volume. The investigated reality was analyzed from the point of view of the interpretive paradigm, under a quantitative and qualitative approach, where some information collection tools were used such as: observation guide, field diary, the use of a Pre-Test and Post-Test. As a possible solution to the evidenced problem, a study protocol was developed in which previously designed analogies were used to facilitate the understanding and learning of the concept of mole and amount of substance in the research participants. The results obtained showed that the participating students reached a higher level of understanding of the concepts, improved their participation and development by applying what they learned in subsequent topics, which led us to conclude that the proposal met the objectives set and allowed to overcome the difficulties. found in learning the concept mole and amount of substance.
