Abstract
Human beings have language as a tool that allows interaction between them, in such a way that they can develop social relationships that support the coexistence of this group, which is why, in the work presented the following question is proposed: How to stimulate the development of language in a student with intellectual disability of the Specialized Education Unit "Manuela Espejo"? To answer this question, the general objective is: To propose a learning corner to stimulate the development of language in a student with intellectual disabilities in the second year of the Specialized Education Unit "Manuela Espejo". In order to give theoretical support to this research, the theoretical framework deals with language, how it is presented in a person with ID and with special emphasis on the strategy to be used to develop the aforementioned ability. In the methodological framework, the research conducted has a qualitative approach and paradigm, consequently, the case study method was applied, techniques such as observation, interview, documentary review and survey and various instruments were used to determine the presence of a student with intellectual disabilities who has problems in the use of language. That is why the use of a learning corner called "language home" is proposed, which will have the purpose of stimulating the development of this skill so that the student has a better interaction with the environment that surrounds him. In conclusion, it was determined the importance of language to participate in different spaces, because through it people are able to express their thoughts.
