Abstract
The aim of this teaching unit is to describe how children's stories influence the improvement of reading and writing of the Third Year students of the Basic Education School "Brazil." The results achieved through the activities carried out inside and outside the classroom were very pleasant, by which the students learned to read fluently, be reflexive, respect the punctuation marks in the written texts, differentiate the male and female genders, order the sequences of the stories, change the beginning and the stories, differentiate the main and secondary characters, characterize the characters through dramatization, thereby developing their creativity and imagination. In conclusion: there were small obstacles one of them is that, the institution does not have a computer room, or internet, but was able to achieve much of the goal to satisfaction.
