Abstract
This study deals with the use of ICT, information and communication technologies, as an educational strategy that favors the improvement of the teaching-learning process in the subject of Biology. To develop this research, information was collected through observation, pretest, surveys, posttest, also relying on field diaries where the content of Biology was diagnosed, since there is a lack of interest on the part of the students to learn and develop. activities based on traditional teaching. In addition, a survey is applied to each of the students of the third year of parallel D unified general high school, with the aim of knowing if students use ICT for educational purposes. Therefore, an interview with the biology teacher is carried out to diagnose the use that she gives to these technologies during the development of the classes. Within the results, the need to implement a didactic strategy through ICT is determined. This didactic strategy consists of phases such as design, planning, implementation and evaluation through the use of various technological resources and digital platforms, which adequately contribute to solving the difficulties in the development of skills with performance criteria of the thematic unit living beings and their environment. It should be concluded that the didactic strategy supported by the use of ICT represents support and reinforcement, which benefit the teaching-learning process of the students, in addition to increasing interest in learning, the use of technological tools and voluntary participation during the course. class development.
