Abstract
The present study entitled, Promote the initial level learning of the Kichwa language through an intercultural interactive textbook, with the children of the sixth and seventh grades of the CECIB Juan Peñafiel. It was developed in the El Valle parish, Cuenca canton, Puca Cruz community. This project was born as a result of attending pre-professional practices, where we identified that the students did not learn the Kichwa language and that the teachers were not specialized in BILINGUAL INTERCULTURAL EDUCATION. Therefore, in their classes they did not teach the language or provide any support material for learning. In the same way, we identify the devaluation that exists of the language in the community by not using it, since they do not find it useful for their future. As a result of this, the idea of developing an educational resource to teach the language arose. From this situation, the following research question arises: How to develop an intercultural interactive textbook to generate oral and written skills in the Kichwa language? This question was the starting point of our comprehensive project. The methodological process that was used was the research that takes a qualitative approach of an ethnographic type. It is based on the place and social groups and the description of what happens. On the other hand, the techniques that were used were the semi-structured interviews that were applied to the teachers and parents of the institution. In addition, another technique was direct participant observation in order not to bother the teacher at the time of her class and that the children can express themselves freely. Since we required information to be able to carry out our work. Despite the fact that certain skills are required, we mainly focused on the emotions and interest that the children had at the time of said class. Since, our objective is to know the level of interest in the Kichwa language With these data it was possible to collect valuable information about their own limitations and potential in terms of learning the Kichwa language. With this, the solution was sought, which was to create a basic interactive learning textbook to arouse children's interest in the language. However, the results were favorable because the students, having insufficient knowledge of the language, went on to learn the most essential and basic language such as pronouns, verbs to be, adjectives, syntax, indicative verbs in present numbers, this helped them to develop both oral and written skills as this was the purpose of this research.
