Abstract
The following research entitled Initiation to literacy through the Montessori methodology in children from 3 to 4 years of age at the CEI "Alberto Astudillo Montesinos" had the objective of contributing to the initiation of literacy through the Montessori methodology in children from 3 to 4 years of age at the Early Childhood Education Center "Alberto Astudillo Montesinos". For this research, theoretical references on literacy, learning environments and Montessori pedagogy were systematized. This research corresponds to the socio-critical paradigm, with a qualitative approach, descriptive study type and case study design. It also details the techniques and instruments that allowed the collection and analysis of important data such as: participant observation, interviews, field diaries, observation guide and question guide. As a result, working on the initiation of reading and writing from the beginning has great advantages in the child's development; however, it is important to adapt the library environment with the necessary materials to begin this process. This is where Bibliossori's proposal arises, to work on different skills for the initiation of reading and writing through Montessori activities. Finally, it can be concluded that the activities within a suitable, quiet environment and with materials that children can explore, play and be free to select stories that are available to them, allows the initiation of reading and writing.
