Abstract
This research highlights the strengthening of skills that promote the reading habit, contributing with techniques that support the development of communicative, reflective and critical skills in students. For this reason, the objective of this work is to implement an activity guide that allows improving reading comprehension in the 7th year of EGB in the subject of Language and Literature, through its three levels, with the purpose that the students are capable of acquiring learning through the reading habit, and at the same time contributing to the teacher developing activities aligned with the Ecuadorian Curriculum to motivate them. To do this, theories from national authors such as Farrach (2016) and Calo and Villa Marín (2023) and international authors such as García et al., (2018) and González (2019) are investigated, who propose a new vision of considering said ability as an axis. of the other knowledge. All this guided from a qualitative approach by collecting data through techniques such as: interview, participant observation and document review, with the direction of a socio-critical paradigm and the action research method, which adapts to the object of study, giving as a first result that reading comprehension is closely related to activities that motivate the student, since forcing or forcing causes a noticeable disinterest in the student, therefore, it is concluded that the present work denotes an impact in the field academic because it suggests cognitive development to the student.
