Abstract
In the contemporary educational context, the development of emotional intelligence among students with functional diversity emerges as a vital imperative, promoting their psychosocial well-being and their full potential for learning and social participation. The objective of this research work is to propose a system of workshops to develop emotional intelligence in students with functional diversity at the high school sublevel of the Buena Esperanza educational unit, school year 2022–2023 from an inclusive approach. Methodologically, it is based on an interpretive paradigm, with a qualitative approach and case study method. Techniques and instruments such as interviews with teachers, parents and the observation guide were applied to understand the development of emotional intelligence in students with functional diversity. The results identify barriers: the lack of support for students in problematic situations, the total lack of knowledge about the work of emotional intelligence in the school environment, the lack of emotional control and regulation of the students, the scarcity of emotional vocabulary, which limits express their emotions, the segregating and exclusive labeling of students to their peers with functional diversity. As a proposal, nine gamified workshops are designed to train high school teachers, so that they have the necessary knowledge and resources to work on emotional skills in students with functional diversity. Said design was evaluated by expert criteria, concluding that they are pertinent, coherent, relevant, efficient, functional and with high impact to respond to the identified problems.
