Abstract
The research starts from the diagnosis made by the researchers during the pre-professional practices where a lack of motivation was evidenced; therefore, the Curricular Integration Work (TIC) aims to determine the pedagogical relevance of the use of contemporary dance as a technique to improve motivation in the learning process in students of the Second Unified General High School (BGU) parallel "A" of the Unidad Educativa Fiscomisional “La Salle”, Azogues. The research methodology responds to a qualitative approach and a descriptive connotation; the techniques for data collection used in this research are participant observation and semi-structured interview; the study population is composed of 26 students. The results obtained show that contemporary dance increases certain physical capacities such as coordination, endurance, flexibility, discipline; in addition, through the application of contemporary dance sessions it has been corroborated that it enhances motivation in students, thus achieving a participatory dynamism in the classroom. It is concluded that it is necessary for teachers to apply didactic techniques and strategies prior to the development of the class, in order to improve the motivational process of the group of students.
