Abstract
The self-regulation of learning from the holistic approach regulates the teaching-learning process (TLP) through the conscience of the individual. The main objective of this research is to determine the influence of self-regulation on academic performance, specifically in the area of Mathematics. The investigative study is of qualitative-quantitative type with a mixed approach. The sample was selected intentionally and made up of 259 students whose minimum age is 12 years and maximum 16. The methods used were: participatory action research (IAP), the descriptive-correlational and theoretical method. The complex vision was analyzed from the methodological triangulation to counteract the information. Based on the analysis, a proposal was proposed that integrates the processes of self-regulation in the holistic education of students from the preparatory education to the baccalaureate. The results of the investigation determined a weak positive correlation from the quantitative approach and a positive influence of the self-regulation in the academic performance from the qualitative approach.
