Abstract
Art is a need that urgently requires a panoramic and active look at the gaps that need to be addressed and healed through opportunities and actions for improvement. One of these important, almost invisible elements are non-formal arts education spaces. Which must be incurred and built as agents of change and evolution for a democratization of arts education and the mobilization of pedagogical approaches in different environments of society. For this reason, this work included participatory action research in the Cañar House of Culture as a non- formal space for arts education, in which an alternative to the problem centered on the lack of educational spaces was sought, proposed and implemented. arts education in non-formal environments to promote inter-institutional dialogue and generate teaching and learning spaces where students can have comprehensive development. The “canary Creativo: Arte y Ajedrez” workshop was implemented as a didactic proposal. After the field research work, the analysis of results was carried out and finally some important conclusions and recommendations were presented on which notable points of the proposal and for new similar proposals in non-formal education in the arts are focused.
