Abstract
This research arose from the problems identified during the pre-professional practices of the eighth and ninth cycles. It became evident that the teacher applies a traditional methodology that limits the development of creative, critical and reflective thinking of the children. The objective of the research is to develop creativity through plastic arts with the children of the initial sublevel 2 "B" of the Enriqueta Cordero Dávila School, by means of a didactic guide called "I am creative-Painted Little Painted Things" inspired by the Reggio Emilia pedagogy. This research is framed in the socio-critical paradigm, from a qualitative approach with case study methodology, using techniques of participant and structured observation, interview and as instruments: field diaries, observation cards and question guide. The results of the application of the activities are that the children showed attitudes of curiosity, interest and motivation, since the strategy, materials and resources were an essential factor for the construction of their own learning, making use of experimentation, creation and exploration. Finally, it is concluded that the plastic arts in early education play an indispensable role in the development of creativity, so teachers must provide diverse materials, resources and generate spaces that motivate the creation of new knowledge.
