Abstract
The objective of this project is to propose activities to improve reading comprehension through peer mentoring in tenth year students of Basic General Education. This research emerges from the experience of the Ricardo Muñoz Chávez Educational Unit during pre-professional practices where the low level of reading comprehension was evidenced. For this purpose activities have been proposed that would improve the three levels of reading comprehension through peer mentoring in order to generate a cooperative environment among students and improve reading capacity. The methodology used for this research is quantitative, the same one that allowed showing an objective reality through the collection of data from the diagnoses applied to teacher and students. The deductive method was applied with a descriptive research, since the use of variables and concepts, and the proposal was developed under a feasible project. The technique used is the survey and the instrument a mixed questionnaire that allowed knowing the levels of reading comprehension of the students. As a result of this study, the activities are proposed to develop reading comprehension levels based on peer mentoring, to improve basic comprehension skills to reach a critical level, this will allow students to do better both in the academic field and in their daily lives.
