Abstract
The research proposal finds out how the methodological strategies applied in the teaching and learning of Mathematics influence the development of Skills with Performance Criteria arranged in the Ecuadorian curriculum of 2016. The research is being carried out in the Sixth Year parallel to EGB of the Luis Cordero Educational Unit. Therefore, the theoretical reference addresses issues such as methodological strategies, skills with performance criteria and their development, taking into account as main theoretical references to the Psychologist Jean Piaget, Mg. María Cecilia Cruz, Mg. Deida Raffo and the Ecuadorian Curriculum 2016. It is based on the interpretive paradigm with a qualitative approach, well, some math classes are observed an interview was applied to the teacher in charge of the subject and the curricular documents held by the PP school were analyzed, such as Didactic Unit Planning (PUD) and the Institutional Educational Plan (PEI) and in turn the tasks of the students, since they help to monitor the development of the Skills with Performance Criteria. The degree work shows as the main conclusion that the methodological strategies linked to the constructivist approach allow improving the teaching and learning process, it allows the student to work actively in the construction and mastery of their knowledge, it is also identified that the educational members responsible for the development of the PEI and the teacher knows what is stipulated in the curriculum on the application of strategies for the development of Skills with Performance Criteria, however, in practice, the reality is another, so a proposal for the use of methodological strategies in the teaching and learning process of
