Abstract
The curricular integration work was carried uot from the pre-professional practice developed in the Membrillo community of the Saraguro canton of the Loja province and as part of the training as future teachers of the UNAE Intercultural Bilingual Education career. Despite the health emergency caused by covid-19 and the change to education in its virtual modality, the work could be carried out in a blended way thanks to the permission of the director of the Bilingual Intercultural Community Education Unit “ABC” and members of the community, who in order to guarantee an education for their children established face to face activities two day a week. The purpose of this research was to improve the teaching-learning processes of fractional numbers through the active learning methodology of 10 seventh grade students from UECIB “ABC” located in the Membrillo community. For this, recreational activities focused on activities of the community´s daily life (corncob, shade, typical food, the sowing and harvesting process, the structure of their houses) were carried out. The research was qualitative in nature with a participatory action research design. The data collection instruments were participant observation, informal interviews and two questionnaires (one to diagnose the ways of teaching mathematics and the ather to assess the activities carried out after the pedagogical intervention). Finally, the results of the intervention allowed learning from form the fractional numbers differently, to then interpret these in all the elements of their environment of the students, with this, to significantly learn mathematical concepts that were not previously understood as the fraction.
