Abstract
During the pre-professional practice at the National University of Education (UNAE), we had the opportunity to intervene in the ́ ́ ́Unidad Educativa Fiscomisional Emilia Merchán´´ located in the city of Azogues. She emphasized the importance of good management of socio-emotional skills since they are the guide for social coexistence and personal well-being in students and even more so in Autism Spectrum Disorder due to their own characteristics. This work aims to meet the objective of Proposing a Guide to complementary activities for socio-emotional skills in a student with autism spectrum disorder. Carrying out a qualitative case study, its paradigm is interpretive, assuming reality in an open way to experiences in the classroom. Through various instruments such as the observation guide, field diary and semi-structured interview, valuable information for the research was obtained. To carry out this work, we began with important phases, the first in charge of selecting a single case, and then in phase two, developing a series of questions that will be answered with phase three, which is responsible for searching for theoretical sources and additional information. and finally, the fourth that is responsible for analyzing the results to generate solutions. In conclusion, the importance of implementing personalized strategies adapted to the individual characteristics of each student with ASD has been highlighted, thus improving their social interaction and empathy. Likewise, it contributes to creating a more comprehensive school environment for everyone.
