Abstract
This research work stems from the need to promote reading and the active participation of the students of the Fifth "B" of the Remigio Romero y Cordero Educational Unit in the academic period 2021-2022. The problem addressed is based on participant observation and documentary analysis in conjunction with the field diaries and the guides and interviews carried out during the pre-professional practices. The present study was based on the general elements that typify reading and its importance in the educational development of students, for which various consultations were made on authors who contribute to the subject. Similarly, emphasis is placed on learning communities and how their development has allowed for a new vision of education, particularly their contribution within the teaching-learning process. The research was carried out from the phases proposed in the action-research method, with a quantitative approach. After reviewing various theories and authors, it was considered appropriate to implement Dialogic Literary Gatherings, which were designed based on the skills of the Ecuadorian curriculum; Therefore, for the application of the same, activities that support the resolution of the problem were reviewed. The implemented proposal was assessed through the judgment of experts, who provided observations that contributed to its improvement. It should be noted that one of the experts consulted was the fifth year teacher of the institution. The most relevant result was that the proposal is relevant to meet the proposed objective.
